The going has been tough for Grigor Dimitrov this year. Although he started 2024 by winning the Brisbane Open title, the Bulgarian tennis star suffered two heartbreaking finals defeats at Open 13 and the Miami Open. Not only has he struggled on the court but also off the court in his personal life.

Dimitrov was reportedly dating Madalina Ghenea, a Romanian model, with rumors saying their relationship had gone cold. Ghenea just officially confirmed her split with Dimitrov and also gave the reason for the same. During a question-and-answer session with her fans on Instagram, she was asked if her man is a tennis player.

Replying to this, she revealed, “It feels like the right moment to clarify that Grigor and I have decided to go our separate ways. Please respect our privacy and don’t believe what you have read in the media.”

Further, explaining the reasons for the split, she said, “I’m very grateful for the time we spent together both as dear friends and as partners for the last 6 years. Due to our tough schedules, events and responsibilities, was the best way forward.”

Ghenea is Leonardo Di Caprio’s ex-girlfriend and she dated the Titanic actor in 2021. However, the two were together only for a year. Last year, the model-actress sparked rumors of her relationship with Dimitrov with an adorable message for the Bulgarian star after his third-round victory at the French Open. She took to social media and said, “Proud of you, my love!” However, things didn’t go as planned and Dimitrov made a shocking move subsequently.

It is no hiding the fact that Dimitrov is crazy about cars, so much so that he once forgot his model girlfriend for a Lamborghini. Late last year, he took to social media and shared a picture of a Lamborghini car. What was interesting to note is that he wrote in the caption, “Insanity my loveeee,” coupled with a fire and a heart emoji.

Madalina Ghenea was nowhere to be seen in that picture. In fact, things weren’t going great between the couple and they even deleted all of their pictures together on social media.
