According to recent reports, we can confirm that Novak Djokovic has got the exemption to travel to Australia next year. With this, the debate settles and we will see the Serb playing in the Australian Open next year. Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic has gone through a lot of trouble because of his stand against vaccination. The 35-year-old traveled to Australia for the first Grand Slam of the year. However, he had to return before the start of the tournament.

Now that the travel restrictions are not in place, Djokovic might play in the Australian Open 2023. While the tournament director of the Australian Open is hopeful to see the Serb next year, he didn’t assure anything.

Although the travel restrictions are not there now, Djokovic’s deportation last year means he will serve a travel ban for 3 years. However, the chances are still there for Djokovic to get it changed.

“I don’t think there should be any preferential treatment for anyone. But I fully expect to have an answer for everyone by the time that they need to book their flights and come in, including Novak. He understands the circumstances and everything, but he’s got to work it out with the federal government. I’m confident they’ll reach some arrangement and hopefully, it’s positive,” Tiley said.
