Carlos Alcaraz hit the headlines when he went head-on against the legend Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of Indian Wells. Thereafter, maintained the hype by winning Miami Open 2022. Carlos got the better of players like Norrie and Monfils in straight sets in Indian Wells. And took down the top ten players, such as Stefanos Tsitsipas in his Miami run.

Though his reign was brief as he lost his very first match In Monte Carlo Masters. The first clay-based event of the year. Thus attracting ill comments about his game in clay. However, not much after his defeat in Monte Carlo, he has stocked himself up with spirit and excellent form and is competing in the Barcelona Open.
Carlos Alcaraz Secures a Seat to Finals
Carlos Alcaraz locked horns with the Australian professional Alex De Minaur in the semifinals of the Barcelona Open. The match got delayed because of the sudden rainfall in the very first set. However, it resumed shortly and both the players fought tooth and nails to win the match.
Match was tied at 2-2 in the first set when rainfall caused a halt. Later, the first set turned its favors toward Minaur. He claimed the first set by 7 (7)- 6 (4). Following that, Carlos revived himself in the second set by 7 (7)- 6 (4).

Last set started with Minaur scoring the first game point, after which both his and Carlos’ points got tied at 3 games each. Thereafter, Minaur took the lead by winning the fourth game. However, Carlos ended the match by winning two consecutive games. Thus, bringing an end to the nerve-wracking match by a third set victory of 6-4.

What Does the Finals Look Like?
Carlos Alcaraz will play against Pablo Carreno Busta, the 30-year-old Spanish tennis professional. He held the ranking of World no. 10 in year 2017 and has six career titles. However, Pablo failed to give a decent start to this year. He made a run till the fourth round of Australian Open and since then hasn’t given a noteworthy performance. Therefore, he will eye the title this ATP 500 event has to offer.
