Taylor Fritz and Matteo Berrettini are no strangers to the fashion world – they even walked the runway at Milan Fashion Week last September, showing off Boss’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. But their latest project really got people talking. They both posted photos from their new Boss photoshoot on Instagram a couple of days ago, and let’s just say they’re pretty eye-catching. Berrettini’s lounging on a couch in his underwear, looking super relaxed, while Fritz is rocking a sporty look with a sleeveless vest and boxer shorts. The fans, well, they definitely had some thoughts!
Both Taylor and Matteo signed with the German brand HB a few years ago. In Taylor Fritz’s case, he made a bold move by parting ways with longtime sponsor US base company “Nike,” whom he had been with since 2016, to join Boss. The transition came just before the prestigious ‘Indian Wells’ tournament in March 2024, marking a new chapter in his off-court branding.
“I’m excited to join the BOSS family. In both my tennis career and my personal life, I strive to deliver 110%, embrace new challenges, and stay true to myself–so I’m inspired by the brand’s values of living a self-determined life and ‘being your own BOSS,” even Fritz added in a statement. And what about Berrettini?

Well, for Berrettini, the partnership with Boss began at the start of the 2022 season when he parted ways with his longtime sponsor, Lotto. The collaborative effort experienced significant growth, with the brand subsequently introducing co-designed products in conjunction with the Italian star. On January 17, 2022, the partnership debuted with the release of the exclusive “BOSS x MATTEO BERRETTINI” collection.

“I have always been a fan of BOSS and it’s an honour to collaborate with such a powerhouse fashion brand – one that is at the top of its game when it comes to style and technical expertise. I’m particularly proud to have the opportunity to give back to the Italian community with each sale from our capsule collection supporting underprivileged children in Italy. I can’t wait to make a positive impact through our partnership,” he shared his thoughts on the collaboration.
Well, well, well! Fans quickly took to their social media, sparking a heated debate over their outfits and overall styling.
“Man and boy” Tennis fandom shares their raw overview of the recent photoshoot
One of the pages in X named “The Tennis Letter” posted a collage picture of Taylor and Berrettini, stating “Matteo Berrettini and Taylor Fritz in new Hugo Boss underwear campaign”. Below that, one fan added, “Its like they’ve put Brad Pitt next to Jim Carrey”. Maybe the fan was comparing Berrettini with Brad Pitt and Taylor with Jim Carrey. But why, though?
Pitt is mostly celebrated for his intense, dramatic roles, often portraying characters with a brooding, as well as serious demeanor. On the other hand, Carrey thrives in the realm of comedy, delivering over-the-top performances fueled by physical humor and exaggerated facial expressions that catch the attention of audiences. While another fan added, “Man and boy 😳”

Another netizen added, “I’m sorry, Taylor Fritz, you’re a nice guy but you can’t compete”. Surely a nice guy, Taylor, is. Context? Whether it was taking a stand for ‘male homosexuality’ rights in tennis during an interview with Clay at the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Riyadh, where he stated, “It’s strange (that no top player has come out), because I think it would be accepted. No one on the tour would have a problem with that”, or his remarkable gesture at the donated his $82,000 first-round prize money to support victims of the devastating wildfires in LA, Fritz actions speak volumes.
Even fellow tennis star ‘Chris Eubanks’ once praised him, saying, “He’s probably one of the most competitive people that I know, he’s a pretty nice guy as well. He’s definitely a special talent,”, further highlighting his impact beyond just tennis and his true human nature. Additionally, another fan added, “Matteo wins the meat off”.
A tennis enthusiast commented, “This is just wrong…who styled this? The couch looks weird! And Taylor has no words!”
