Over the years, Andy Murray has enthralled tennis fans with his audacious displays on the tennis court. His consistent performances in big tournaments have resulted in him being among the elite group in men’s tennis. However, over the last few years, his injury troubles have hindered his performance at the top level.

The British star has been troubled by hip injuries since the latter half of the 2017 season. Murray even had two major hip surgeries to repair the damage done. Subsequently, he had an on-off time on the tennis circuit. Nonetheless, Murray has shown massive signs of improvement this season. Recently, American legend Chris Evert praised the former World Number 1 for his recent performances.

The 18-time women’s singles Grand Slam champion took to Twitter to heap praise on Murray. She said, “Resilience, hard work and belief!” Earlier, talking about his performance at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, Germany, Murray said, “It has been a long time since the last final (on grass). A lot of ups and downs, but I kept going and kept working and finally managed to get to another one.”

In the recently concluded BOSS Open, Murray reached the finals of the tournament before going down fighting against the second seed, Matteo Berrettini in three sets. The Italian started the match brightly and took the opening set 6-4.

However, Murray came back strongly to level the match by winning the second set 7-5. The deciding set panned out similarly to the first set, with Berrettini winning it 6-3. It was a brilliant comeback by the Italian after missing the clay-court season.
Murray receives a special exemption for the Cinch Championships
The 35-year-old was originally set to take part in the qualifying draw for the ATP 500 tournament in London. However, due to his deep run at the BOSS Open, Murray has received a special exemption for the tournament. As a result, he has made it directly into the main draw of the Cinch Championships.
