German legend, Boris Becker recently traveled all the way to picturesque Paradise Island in the Bahamas for a romantic getaway with his newlywed wife, Lilian Becker. However, amid all these, he got the chance to meet his rockstar friend, John McEnroe at the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau. From being fierce rivals on the court to becoming supporters of each other in tough times, these two tennis legends have come a long way! Seeing Becker enjoy the live music concert of John McEnroe is a true bliss to watch for all tennis lovers.

Born Rockstar! Well, John McEnroe is a man of multiple talents. After taking retirement from the sport, McEnroe formed the music group, ‘The Johnny Smyth Band,’ where he was the lead singer and the lead guitarist. Do you know even the famous Danish musician Lars Ulrich once complimented the American for his natural flair for music? Although the band was dissolved in 1997, he kept his musical inclinations and hopes alive through performing at various concerts.

Talking about concerts, previously during the 2024 Indian Wells Masters, we saw John McEnroe taking the stage on fire with his guitar, riffing off Tom Petty’s ‘Runnin’ Down a Dream.’ Now, fans yet again got the chance to get a glimpse of the Rockstar McEnroe through Boris Becker’s social media posts. Becker recently shared two IG Stories featuring his friend and long-time rival, John McEnroe. In the first one, McEnroe was singing in the background and he captioned that video clip with “The great Johnny Mac.”

Then in the second one, the American looked in full form with the guitar in his hand and Becker seemed to be quite mesmerized with his performance. He wrote, “The one and only….“, in its captions. Both John McEnroe and Boris Becker have met each other 10 times in their careers. Although the German has a lead of 8-2 in the H2H, both of them shared quite a few memorable moments from their previous meetings.

Talking about memorable meetings, John McEnroe fondly recalled the time when Boris Becker engaged in a psychological battle on the court in the German documentary, ‘Boom! Boom! The World vs Bori Becker.’ What was the incident though? Well, McEnroe was seen recalling those moments when Boris Becker used to cough loudly to distract his opponents and win crucial points during matches. He said, “I decided once when I played Boris in Paris, you know, cause he had this fake cough that he always did, and pretended like it wasn’t fake. And, like, he’d go….[coughing].”
