Roger Federer decided to put an end to his illustrious career one year ago at the Laver Cup. Despite retiring, he is never short of new opportunities and projects. Throughout his career, he has seen both moments of joy and sorrow while always putting his best foot forward. And one person has witnessed it all alongside him. It was his wife. “I’ve got a wonderful team around me and a great wife,” Federer said recently.

In a recent interview at the Laver Cup, he shed light on how his life post-retirement has been and how he is grateful for having Mirka Federer and his team behind him. The 20-time grand slam winner also revealed how he denies many new projects as he just wishes to enjoy the new phase in his life.

The life post-retirement hasn’t seemed to be so easy for the Swiss legend Roger Federer. The tennis legend has a plethora of invitations, but he’s committed to avoiding an overly opportunistic approach. Declining offers may not be the most enjoyable task, but he understands the importance of making discerning choices.

With a trusted team by his side and the support of his incredible wife, Mirka Federer, Roger is confident in his decision-making process. Gratitude shines through as he looks forward to the future, embracing what lies ahead while also acknowledging the pivotal role Mirka plays in his life.

“I don’t want to be too opportunistic as well. I’m saying no to a lot of things at the moment which is not the fun bit because everybody thinks I got so much time so I get tons of invitations. I can’t be everywhere, but I know I’ll make the right decision. I’ve got a wonderful team around me and a great wife. I’m looking forward to what’s next, and some tennis has to be sprinkled in there somewhere somehow, so I’ll be around,” said Roger Federer in an interview at the Laver Cup.

However, this is not the first time that Roger Federer praised his wife. At the Laver Cup last year, Federer played the closing tournament of his career. Back then too, in an emotional meltdown, the Swiss great, went ahead to thank his wife for being his constant support.
