Novak Djokovic has decided to break his silence on the rumors and reports that have been circulating about him during his time in Australia. Despite reports of a grave hamstring injury by his medical team, Djokovic won a record-equaling 22nd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. Not only that, but he also won the title at Adelaide International before the AO 2023. Recently, speaking to Jelena Medic of Sportal, Djokovic has revealed plans for a tell-all press conference.
Holding a press conference can provide him an opportunity to set the record straight. He would also have the opportunity to address all allegations of ‘faking an injury’ that are damaging to his reputation. If Djokovic did sustain a legitimate injury, it’s understandable that he would want to defend himself against such accusations.

It is undeniable that the world will be looking at Djokovic and his upcoming conference. In his statement, Djokovic says, “I can’t tell you anything, sorry. I decided to have a press conference…will answer all questions there. I have already arranged with my PR team, the invitation will arrive in a few days.”
It will be interesting to listen to what Djokovic has to say and how he responds to the questions he is asked. The ‘Nole’ has also spoken about how he will post pictures of his injury along with a statement.
“I was thinking whether I should publish anything about the injury. I told myself that I will, I want to. Will go into more detail and publish some photos on social media about everything we went through.” As per his ex-coach Boris Becker, Djokovic would never fake an injury.
It’s understandable that the 10-time Australian Open champion is bothered by the rumors and comments that have been circulating about him. They have not just cropped up from his critics, but also from his fans. Especially, the allegations also question the legitimacy of his titles. He said, “some comments bother me a little. You will get to know everything in a few days time”.

However, contrary to such statements, the Serbian legend had previously stated that he does not think he needs to prove anything to anybody. Hopefully, the conference will provide clarity on the situation and put any lingering doubts to rest. Nonetheless, it’s good to see that Djokovic is continuing to practice and prepare for upcoming tournaments, such as the one in Dubai.
