For almost two decades, 20-time major champion and former World No.1 Rafael Nadal has attracted scores of spectators to his game and turned them to his fans. With each passing year, admiration for the Spaniard just keeps increasing as he bids for a comeback on the ATP tour next year.
After a difficult semi-final loss to Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros earlier this year, the Spaniard decided to skip the grass-court season in order to rest his body after a grueling European clay-court stint.

Rafael Nadal is currently recouping from foot injury
Even though Nadal made his comeback on the US hard-courts, it remained a short and unsuccessful run as he was defeated by Lloyd Harris at Citi Open in Washington. Post this defeat, Nadal called an end to his 2021 season and went home to undergo foot treatment.
Now that he is recouping and might hit the courts pretty soon, one can expect Rafael Nadal to make a comeback at the Australian Open next year, if not at the ATP Cup.

89-year-old fan expresses desire to get a birthday wish from Nadal
Nadal, who is a rare visitor of social media, recently received a warm request from one of his oldest fans. The clip shows an 89-year-old Nadal fan expecting the Spaniard to wish him on his 90th birthday.
In the video shot by his granddaughter, the man explains that Rafael Nadal’s game is the best he has ever seen in men’s tennis. The grandfather also regrets not being able to watch the Spaniard live anymore but a birthday wish would compensate for that.
Earlier this year at the Madrid Open, the 20-time major champion received a similar request from a grandson on twitter.

Carlos Carrizosa, who took his grandmother to watch Rafael Nadal live for the first time in her life, wrote about her Alzheimer’s condition and how she would like to meet the Spaniard once before she forgets everything. After his quarter-final victory in Madrid, Nadal went and met the 93-year old Manuela.
