Novak Djokovic is on cloud 9 this season. The Serbian tennis legend has enjoyed one of the best years of his tennis career. After a disastrous 2022 campaign, he bounced back in style to clinch 3 Grand Slam titles this year. In the process, he overcame the Grand Slam tally of Rafael Nadal and equal Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 titles. Recently, the Spanish legend, Nadal, broke his silence as his rival Djokovic raced ahead of him in the Grand Slam titles race.

Nadal has been struggling with injuries and has been out of action for quite some time now. As a result, he’s stuck at 22 Grand Slam titles as against Djokovic’s 24. Here’s what he had to say about their competition.

Talking about it, he said, “I’m not frustrated for a simple reason, always tried my best to get best possible result.” Further, the host interrupted by saying that he cannot be frustrated after winning 22 Grand Slam titles. To which Nadal responded, “It’s possible. E.g. I think Djokovic lives it in a more intense way. For him, it would have been a greater frustration not to achieve it [the Major Tally].” (Translated using Google Translate)

In the recently concluded US Open, the Djoker triumphed over Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. With this, he also reclaimed the top spot in the ATP rankings. Despite his massive success, Nadal’s uncle, Toni Nadal, made a salty admission on the Serb.
