Over the years, Roger Federer has enthralled tennis fans with his audacious displays on the tennis court. He has had many memorable tournaments where he has held his dominance throughout his career. The first tournament that comes to mind is the Wimbledon Championships, where the Swiss maestro has won eight titles. Further, at the ATP Masters 1000 events, Federer has won seven Cincinnati Masters titles. Moreover, it is his most successful ATP 1000 tournament.

Recently, news surfaced about Federer’s agency, TEAM8, looking to buy the rights for the Cincinnati Masters tournament. The former US Open champion, Andy Roddick, has reacted to this news.

Andy Roddick on the agency of Roger Federer considering buying Cincinnati Masters rights

The American legend was elated after news emerged about Federer’s involvement in buying the rights for the Cincinnati Masters. He said, “In the world of tennis, where conflict of interests knows no bounds at all, Roger can do this. He’s obviously been a great steward for the game, has created an incredible relationship with the fans in the city of Cincinnati.”

Further, he added, “You would like to see it stay in the tennis family, with someone who actually knows and loves our sport. So we will see, from what I hear, there are a number of interested parties but it is nice to see responsible names in the mix.”

Roddick slams the Russian Tennis Federation’s President

Recently, Shamil Tarpischev, president of the Russian Tennis Federation labeled Elina Svitolina as ‘absolutely nobody’. Calling out Tarpischev for his remarks, Roddick said on Twitter, Tarpischev career high ranking of 164. Career record of 2-3. No titles (obviously) .. @ElinaSvitolina career record of 433-228. 16 singles titles, career high of 3. I’d ask him to define “nobody” and then look in the mirror objectively.”

Further, these remarks were made by Tarpischev on the back of Wimbledon’s decision to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from this year’s tournament. Moreover, he also went on to thank the top players in the world for criticizing Wimbledon’s decision.
