Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios recently spoke about being a beacon for those, who are on the edge of their mental health issues. Kyrgios himself suffered massive mental health issues that completely separated him from his family and professional life. However, this Australian tennis player inspirationally overcame that battle and is now dedicated to helping others like him.

Kyrgios courageously revealed his challenges to the audience, which later became the topic of a Netflix documentary. Now in a recent interview, he spoke about how this social media revelation inspired people to overcome their mental health problems.

In a recent interview, Kyrgios said that, after his revelations on social media platforms, his fans privately shared their battles with him. Kyrgios commented-“I’ve helped so many people after I opened up about it and put on social media and obviously the Netflix documentary highlighted a lot more of it. I’ve almost been a beacon for people who are struggling. when they feel like they’re overwhelmed and they’re going towards you know drinking and drugs and stuff. They open up and they feel like I am relatable,”

Kyrgios further said-“People come to me with genuine issues and they send me photos in my Instagram DMs of them, you know, self harming and and genuinely wanting to commit suicide. I have conversations with these people sometimes, you know, I’ve had phone calls with these people.

Kyrgios’s revelation truly inspired people that if he can overcome his dark times, others also can. In his journey, Kyrgios also admitted that Andy Murray’s help worked like a charm for him when he felt suicidal. However, it was ultimately Kyrgios’s dedication that sorted out his mental health issues.

How did Nick Kyrgios fight back against his mental health challenges?

Kyrgios spoke about finding his solution to mental health issues and it was only his determination. He said- “Well, I was winning more often than losing. But I guess I just bought into having a better mentality and, you know, understanding that tennis is so up and down. You know, being on the tour for the whole year was incredibly hard. And I just knew I had to manage my emotions better. And that’s, that’s what I did.” Now Kyrgios had quite an awful tennis season since 2022 and the audience termed him ‘hot-headed’ on the court.
