Massive deferred value in Ohtani’s contract
The total value of the baseball star’s contract amounts to $700 Million. However, it is revealed that Shohei Ohtani will receive only $2 Million per year during the period of his contract. This leaves him with $680 Million as deferred earnings.
After his contract ends, Ohtani will receive $68 Million per year for 10 years. This covers the remaining part of the contract, which he’ll earn as deferred earnings. The nature of the contract is surprising and Ohtani has agreed to this format.
