Frances never went to a conventional school, as he had to move a lot for tennis. He got his diploma from Laurel Springs School, which is an online school based in California, USA. The parents decided to get Frances and Franklin, his brother, into tennis, as they were able to have them coached for free. Since the two were five, Constant had them enrolled in the Junior Tennis Champion Centre. Both learned much of their tennis there. Misha Kouznetsov eventually took on Frances when he was eight.

Tiafoe reached the fourth round of the US Open after defeating Diego Schwartzman, but he came up with an upset when he defeated <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/rafael-nadal/">Rafael Nadal</a> in the quarterfinals, the biggest win of his career to date. He also became only the third American after Andy Roddick and Blake to beat Nadal in a grand slam. Tiafoe made it to the semifinals but lost to <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/carlos-alcaraz-garfia/">Carlos Alcaraz</a> in a grueling match that lasted for five sets and over four hours.

2023 started off on a good note for Tiafoe, where he helped the US tennis team win the United Cup, beating Italy in the final.
