36-year-old tennis legend Rafael Nadal might have faced a few defeats at the hands of young players recently. However, even then Nadal is one player that has proved to be a tough challenge to get past through. One such player who got a personal taste of Nadal’s iconic form is Nick Kyrgios. Making an Avengers: Infinity War reference, Kyrgios hailed the unwavering form of the Spanish tennis legend.

The Australian tennis star has faced Nadal nine times in his career till now and though he secured a tough victory last year at Wimbledon, he put up an even greater fight in 2019.

Every young tennis player craves the opportunity to go against tennis legends like Rafael Nadal. Kyrgios got it nine times, however, every single time, he realized what made Nadal a legend.

Nonetheless, that did not waiver his confidence as he put up a tough fight against him. But in front of Nadal’s mighty gameplay and experience, even he realized how meek his efforts looked. Now that he is rehabilitating like his opponent from an injury, he reminisced about his 2019 face-off. The controversial body attack during the match drew a lot of criticism against the Australian player.

Sharing an old clip from the same match on his Instagram story, he gave an appropriate Avengers: Infinity War reference. Comparing Rafa to Thanos, Kyrgios stated, “This is like thanos… all that for a drop of blood.”

No matter how young or fast the players are, going against Nadal is not an easy job and Kyrgios meant exactly that. Even after putting up a great fight like that, he faced defeat at the hands of the Spanish tennis legend.

Last year Kyrgios got a chance to take the revenge at Wimbledon but Nadal staged a walkover due to a stomach injury. Now both the young and relatively old tennis stars are off the court and fans are eagerly waiting for their comeback.

Are Nadal and Kyrgios coming back to French Open?

Rafael Nadal revealed that he will not be able to make a comeback at the Italian Open. This has dimmed out the already thinning out hopes of his fans to see him at the French Open.

On the other hand, Nick Kyrgios has given his fans hope about his clay-court swing. Though not a huge fan of the clay court, he gave his fans a teaser about his probable French Open comeback.
