It was at the Quimper Challenger back in 2023 where the Frenchman had to dig deep to defeat Virtanen. However, Fils has seen a massive improvement since and he would be confident of a good show at the upcoming Australian Open.

When it comes to the ATP rankings of Fils and Virtanen, there is a massive difference in it. Fils is ranked 20th in the ATP rankings, while the Finnish star lies in the 92nd position. Additionally, Fils’ superiority is seconded by the win-loss record last year. Fils won 38 matches while losing 28, whereas Virtanen won 4 and lost 7 matches on the ATP Tour in 2024.

Another important aspect of Fils’ game is his serve. The Frenchman has been serving big with consistency which has helped him to win crucial points.
