Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s legendary status is a constant topic among tennis fans. Surprisingly, it is rare to see anyone acknowledging the support they received from their respective partners. Australian tennis sensation Li Tu, for a change, often credits the women behind his successful stint in tennis, especially his wife, Kimberley. Li Tu once described his wife as “an absolute rock” in his corner. Reflecting on how distance brought them “closer,” he shared how he felt like knowing his life partner his “whole life.” Following Li Tu’s adorable confession, his wife received much spotlight sparking curiosity about one aspect: how her support has helped the Aussie player find his rhythm that might lead him to reach a significant milestone in Melbourne.
Li Tu, who is all set to face Jiri Lehecka in the first round of the Australian Open, won the ATP Challenger Tour three weeks after his mother’s death from lung cancer. A day after delivering the eulogy at the funeral, the 28-year-old returned to tour. In this crucial and challenging phase of his life, Li Tu had his life’s pillar of strength, his wife Kimberley Tu by his side. When the Aussie qualified for his first-round match at the 2024 US Open against Carlos Alcaraz, he confirmed, “I’ve got my wife Kimberly who is here supporting and she flew over last week from Australia.”
Li Tu’s revelation, no matter how brief, highlighted his bond with his life partner. The couple got married on 3rd September 2022, two years after they met on a flight from Sydney to Adelaide. “Married my best friend ❤️,” wrote the 179-ranked ATP star on Instagram.

Although Kimberley Tu has been a pivotal character in Li Tu’s life, there is not much information available about her in the public domain. However, her husband’s confessions highlight how she has been incredibly supportive of their family. In August 2022, Li Tu returned home after a Chicago-based ATP Challenger tour with a plan to marry his now-wife Kimberley in November. However, upon returning, Li Tu saw his mother bedridden, and together with his wife, the couple got married on 3rd September, 2 months before the finalized date.
Reflecting on how the presence of his life’s two most important women made his wedding a memorable one, Li Tu said, “It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life, where less than 20 people were at the wedding, and I got married to Kimberley, and my mom was there.”
Kimberley Tu sometimes joins her talented husband on tour. She accompanied Li Tu during the latter’s 2025 Brisbane International run. When the ATP number 179 exited the championship after losing against Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka in qualifiers, the couple visited Brisbane’s Pallet Cafe and posed with the chef. “A special shout out to Australian Tennis🎾 pro, Li Tu and his wife Kimberley Tu thank you both for stopping into our little cafe while you were in town for the Brisbane International 2024 thank you so much for the awesome review, your kindness touches the soul,” wrote the Cafe’s official IG profile.
