Aryna Sabalenka isn’t one to hide her emotions, whether in victory or defeat. The two-time Australian Open champion narrowly missed out on a rare three-peat in Grand Slam when she lost to Madison Keys in the final. It also marked her first defeat of the 2025 season, which was a hard-fought battle 6-3, 1-6, 7-5. While her on-court dominance is undeniable, Sabalenka recently made headlines off the court as well, by gracing the cover of Flaunt Magazine. Beyond donning luxurious brands and stylish looks, she also revealed the ‘love of her life’- and it wasn’t her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis.
Draped in elegance, Sabalenka rocked a light-green Burberry coat, pairing it with a Skims bodysuit and Falke tights, accessorizing with exquisite Bulgari earrings, necklaces, and rings. The magazine also featured her in a Sandro jacket, a Fendi Jacket, Falke tights, and Stella McCartney shoes, further accentuated by Bulgari’s statement pieces. While her fashionable look captivated many, it was her candid confession of her true passion that turned heads. Sabalenka revealed that tennis is the “greatest love in her life,” adding humorously, “Don’t tell my boyfriend.”
Despite her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis’ unwavering support throughout her Melbourne campaign, Sabalenka hasn’t given up on her love for tennis more than anything. The world No. 1 is as fierce off the court as she is on it. Crediting her competitiveness, during an interview with Flaunt magazine she admitted, “I am, I mean, aggressive in some ways on the court. It’s quite crazy. You have to be 100% armed, which is really tough to handle, being like that throughout the whole day. When I’m not training, I’m just trying to do things which bring me joy.” For nearly three years, Sabalenka has solidified her place among the tennis elite. With 20 consecutive victories in Melbourne, she was on the brink of achieving history.

She was also on the point of joining an elite group of players who have reached five or more consecutive Women’s Singles Grand Slam hard-court finals in the Open Era. It included big names like Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, and Martina Hingis. However, beyond the competitive drive, Sabalenka also emphasizes taking time off. “Sometimes, it’s even a simple thing like going for a good coffee in a good cafe. You just enjoy the place, and you sit there having a coffee, scrolling Instagram, doing something completely stupid. Being off. It’s important.” she added.

After the finish of her Australian Open campaign, Sabalenka has been sharing snippets of her downtime. One of her Instagram stories showed her relaxing in a cozy white shirt, enjoying a peaceful time in front of an ocean. This emphasizes the significance of her slowing down and appreciating the little things. As much as her passion fuels Sabalenka for tennis and competitiveness, she also cherishes the emotional moments that shape her life.

Aryna Sabalenka gets real about keeping emotional moments of her life with her late father
Amidst all the glamour, Aryna Sabalenka also opened up about embracing emotional moments that are not shared on social media. Following the Melbourne Park campaign, she reflected on the time she spent alone after she lost her father and grandfather. Despite being featured on the cover of Flaunt magazine, she made it clear that she likes to keep some aspects of her life private.
Sabalenka lost her father, Sergey Sabalenka, in 2019 due to meningitis. Her father was one of her biggest supporters, and his passing was a profound loss to her. She says she copes with grief privately, saying, “I’m really open. But I have to say, when I lost my dad, from time to time, I would go to the church and put a candle for his memory and the memory of my grandfather. It’s something you never show on social media. I’m not gonna be the one in the church filming.”
