On the other hand, his opponent Luca Van Assche had a flying start to the tournament. Facing Jordanian player Shelbayh in the first match, the French kid prevailed victorious in a 4-set match. The final score line of the match was 4-3, 3-4, 4-1, 4-1 in favor of Van Assche.

However, a defeat in the second match at the hands of Medjedovic shattered his dreams of having a perfect run at the group stage. With the scoreline of 4-2, 2-4, 4-3, and 4-1, the Serbian player claimed glory.
