The ATP Moselle Open is one of the last tournaments before we witness the ATP Finals. The 250 event gives players a small chance to earn just enough points to play in the Finals. However, in order to achieve enough points, one has to battle a hoard of players. Marcos Giron will face Lorenzo Sonego in their opening round matches in Metz, France.

After both players exited the Paris Masters early on, they will aim to go far in the ATP 250 event in hopes of reviving some momentum in their favor. Now, we have to see who has the better chance of coming out on top.

The world number 59 is currently hoping to go far in the Moselle Open to improve his chances of gaining a higher rank. Giron did not manage to go farther than round 3 in either slams or Masters tournaments. Despite a rocky season, he managed to eke out a victory against Holger Rune, the biggest one of his career yet. His stint in the Paris Masters ended in Round Three, a much better show than his opponents.

He also earned his fifth and sixth wins over players in the Top 10. He was unable to win the first qualifier in the Paris Masters and will now play against Giron, hoping for a win.

Both players have struggled to leave their mark in the Slams and ATP 1000 tournaments in the past. But given their current performances, Giron has a better chance of coming out on top. Sonego fumbled in the Paris Masters, while Giron managed to advance to Round two. With his win, he seems to have a better chance of moving on to round two of the tournament and going 1-0 up in their Head-to-Head statistics.
