Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev has credited his run to the final of the Rolex Paris Masters to the form that he has been carrying since the US Open.
While he currently sits fifth in the ATP singles rankings, Medvedev’s quarter-final win over Argentine Diego Schwartzman saw him vault past Roger Federer to clinch the fourth place.
His move to fourth will reflect in the new ATP rankings at the end of this year.

“Two of my best matches this year”: Medvedev
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Masters title clash with third-ranked German Alexander Zverev, Medvedev said he rates his semi-final win over Canadian Milos Raonic as one of his best matches this year.
To a question whether he can pinpoint to something that has made him a better player in his last two matches at the Masters, Medvedev said, “I don’t think it (QF/SF) was the best tennis I have played this year.”

“Been playing well since US Open, Cincinnati: Daniil Medvedev
“I’ve been playing good since the US Open and Cincinnati actually,” Medvedev said.
Seeded third at the Paris Masters, Medvedev said, “There are always matches where you can say ‘maybe this one was the best or that one’. But these two were really good matches.”
“Something is working well here in Paris…maybe I like the balls, maybe the court,” the Russian said.

“I was working hard after (the) clay season, before (the) clay season. So I know that at one moment if you practice well, you do your job, at one moment the season is going to come back,” Medvedev said.
“This moment came here in Paris, which is really good because that’s my first final in France, actually,” Medvedev added.

After spanking Schwartzman 6-3, 6-1 in the last-eight, Medvedev dished out a clinical display to see off Raonic in the semi-final.
However, between the Russian and his first title in France stands Zverev who upset top-seed Rafael Nadal 6-4, 7-5 to set up the title clash.
