Although the clay-court season might not have gone the way Sinner had planned, the Italian star is back to his best on grass. Despite being stretched in his match today, Sinner looked in control of things and even produced a moment of magic. The video of that point was shared by Tennis TV and it went viral on social media as soon as it was posted.

After Sinner’s opponent, Marozsan, had served, the Italian star hit a deep return and Marozsan opted to hit a drop shot. This resulted in Sinner proceeding toward the net and barely managing the return. Subsequently, Sinner was stretched on both the ends of the court but still managed to hit a backhand winner, rolling in the grass and promptly standing back up to hit another winner and taking the point. The crowd erupted and were very vocal while cheering him after that point. Even the online tennis community couldn’t control their excitement on social media.

Fans go bonkers after Sinner wins another ‘point of the year’ contender

Sinner’s fans base has increased leaps and bounds ever since he won his maiden Grand Slam title Down Under. He has maintained those standards going further this season and given his all to be at his absolute best. As a result, when he won an outrageous point against Marozsan, fans came out in large numbers on social media to praise him.

One of the fans compared his act to that of him being on a clay court with the way he slied to win the point. The fan wrote, “The way he slides like he’s on clay?” Points on clay are slower but grass is much faster, making it an almost impossible move from Jannik Sinner.

Meanwhile, a section of fans couldn’t believe Sinner repeating the incredible feat that he had performed just days ago. During his match against Tallon Griekspoor, the Italian star won a stunning point by diving on the court. As a result, a fan commented, Jannik Sinner are you kidding me??? AGAIN??? WHAT??” Pouring out similar emotions, another Twitter user said, “This is just mind-blowing from Sinner. Who covers a grass court like this?”

Not even Federer! Sinner has been one of the best players this year. However, after watching that point, one fan felt that he was the best talent in the history of the sport. Further, some fans chimed in with humorous thoughts. On this front, a fan commented, “Yet another phenomenal unbelievable point from Jannik. We need a new category: Jannik’s points of the year.”

Another pointed out that although Alcaraz may be ahead in the Grand Slam tally, it’s perfectly natural to be a slow starter. “sinner might be the new goat instead of alcaraz he is having a lower start in terms of grand slams but lets see at end what will happen”

When Carlos Alcaraz became the French Open champion this year, he was also the youngest player to win Slams on three different surfaces. And while Sinner might be almost two years older, it’s he who is the World No. 1!

Indeed, Sinner is a serious contender for the Point of the Year, not once, but several times this year. He will next take on the winner of the match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jan-Lennard Struff.
