When it comes to his opponent, Rublev had a relatively bad campaign at the ATP Finals this year. Out of the 2 matches that he played, he wasn’t able to secure victory in either. Facing Medvedev in the first round, he managed to secure a straight-sets win. The final scoreline of the match remained 6-4, 6-2. In his second match against the Spaniard Alcaraz, he could not stand a chance either and suffered a straight-set loss with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-2.
