Defending champion, Tommy Paul had a scary start to his campaign against the young American Jenson Brooksby at the 2025 Dallas Open. Although he managed to end that match on a winning note, his performance in the R32 will raise a lot of question marks in the minds of his fans. Next up for Paul is another youngster, Ethan Quinn (USA). This 20-year-old lad has looked quite impressive so far at this tournament. He has already played three matches in this tournament, but he hasn’t yet dropped a set so far.

Tommy Paul had a wonderful season last year. He started his campaign by reaching the QF at the Adelaide International and then after that he clinched the title at the 2024 Dallas Open. Paul defeated his compatriot Marcos Giron in the final in a three-set thriller last time. After his heroics in Dallas, he went on to reach the final at the Delray Beach Open, but over there he was literally outclassed by Taylor Fritz. Tommy Paul’s second title of the 2024 season came at the Queen’s Club Championships and then after that, he also won a title in Stockholm. Even in 2025, he got off to a bright start! Tommy Paul reached the SF in Adelaide and made it to the QF in the 2025 AO. He’ll be entering this match following his hard-fought 6(6)-7,6-3,6-4 win over Brooksby in the R32.

Ethan Quinn defeated James Kent Trotter (JPN) and James Duckworth (AUS) in the Qualifiers and then after that, he thrashed his compatriot Trevor Svajda in the R32 by 6-4,6-2. Can Quinn keep his winning run intact in Dallas? Time will tell! However, if we look at his performances in the 2024 season, Ethan Quinn reached the SF of the ITF USA F14 and then made it to the QF in some of the Challenger events.
