The tennis community can’t keep quiet as another edition of the ATP Buenos Aires is back with some exciting showdowns. Also known as the Argentina Open, the tournament has featured some top guns on the men’s tour competing on the outdoor clay courts. Now that the initial round fixtures have been concluded, the big stage is set up for the semifinal rounds of the ATP Tour 250 event.

On his home soil, the former number 49 Argentine player Federico Coria will lock horns with his unseeded compatriot, Facundo Diaz Acosta, in the semis. Entering the tournament as an unseeded player, the 31-year-old swept aside the likes of second-seeded Brit Cameron Norrie and the current number 1 Austrian, Sebastian Ofner, in his opening-round games. In the quarterfinals, Coria then defeated his fifth-seeded compatriot Sebastian Baez in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

Facundo Diaz Acosta, on the other hand, is also coming to the tournament after his quarterfinal finish at the Cordoba Open. In his initial round matchups in Buenos Aires, the Argentine tennis player overcame Francisco Cerundolo and Daniel Altmaier to reach the quarterfinals. Later, Diaz Acosta breezed past his Serbian opponent Dušan Lajović, 6-4, 6-3, to secure a spot in the semis.

The semifinal match between Coria and Diaz Acosta at the ATP Buenos Aires will also mark their fourth meeting on the ATP circuit. In their previous meetings at the Guayaquil Challenger and Buenos Aires Challenger, it was Coria who defeated his compatriot and currently has a 2-1 lead in their H2H record.
