The decision was a long time coming and it was first conceptualized in 2020 with ATP’s OneVision strategy. As per the new formula, players who have participated in the Masters 1000 tournaments are set to benefit from this new initiative. With the increment of more than $12 Million announced, ATP’s OneVision strategy has resulted in almost an increase of $50 Million in player compensation in 2023.

Speaking on this, the men’s tennis governing body’s chairman, Andrea Gaudenzi, said, “It’s hard to overstate what a seismic shift this represents for the business of tennis. It means greater trust and transparency between players and tournaments, and aligned incentives, for the first time ever.”

The new initiative will bring in much relief for the players at a time when other costs like stay and travel are going up significantly. Even World Number 1, Novak Djokovic, once pointed out the crude reality of the tennis players.
