The celebration led by Ben Shelton is one of the most notable. While many athletes opt to spend the occasion with their loved ones, the American player has established his own special dial-in style.

He took to his Instagram account to share a series of pictures in which he was seen celebrating the victory. In one of those stories, he re-shared a video of his match. The focus was on the tribute that he gave to the 21-year-old American by doing his kind of celebration.

Not only that but in the rest of the stories, he was seen picking up the phone just like the American, dialing into the tournament. In one of the stories, he also wrote, “5 cell phones in the gold suit, baby I won’t call back 📞🙅‍♂️ ”

While the Italian player clearly acknowledged the amazing celebration, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the 21-year-old American turned out to be an inspiration at such a young age. But do you know the inspiration behind the dialed-in celebration?

When Shelton revealed the theory behind the dialed-in celebration

After winning the tournament in Tokyo, Shelton talked about his celebration. During a press conference, he stated, “I like to try to be original. I like to try to do different things on the court; be creative. That celebration was really cool and special for me because of what it meant to my friends back home.”

Along with that, he also added that he is not the guy who thinks about celebrating before the game. But at the same time, it was something that was spontaneous and an in-the-moment celebration. The celebration started grabbing attention when it created a lot of chaos during the 2023 US Open when Novak Djokovic made fun of him by replicating the same celebration after his semifinal victory.
