America’s Nishesh Bsavarareddy received a wildcard entry for the 2025 AO. Speaking on his debut appearance at the main draw of a major tournament, the 19-year-old said, “I just want to really enjoy my first Grand Slam.” However, before taking his flight to Melbourne, he’ll be keen to get some wins under his belt in Auckland. Basavareddy has already got past two of the qualifiers at the 2025 ASB Classic and now he’s all set to face Argentina’s Francisco Comesana in the R32. His third title triumph came at the Challenger Sao Paulo, BR. Apart from that, he also made quite a few deep runs in his previous tournaments in the last season.

At the ASB Classic, he defeated France’s Maxime Janvier in the first qualifier by three sets. Then in the second one, he was defeated by Zizou Bergs (BEL) 6-3,4-6,3-6. Can he make a turnaround in the next match?
