The Briton has competed with the big three many times but now finds it difficult to attain wins due to his continuous bout with injuries. With a downward trajectory, this seems to be his final run in the sport. As reports of his retirement continue to make rounds, his mother comes out to show love to a fan who is ready to remember him fondly.

Most of the tennis world is focused on Rafael Nadal as he just finished his last run in the Madrid Open. He was ousted by Jiri Lehecka 7-5, 6-4, but left with his head held high and looked forward to Rome. Amidst all the commotion, one fan of Murray decided to speak his mind about the Briton, who changed the fate of British tennis.

Nadal is resolute in his belief that 2024 will be his final year in the sport. Rafa has been open about his dream of playing and winning gold at the Olympics one last time. Regardless, his major focus will be the French Open, which he has won 14 times. He will not be the only player competing in the Roland Garros one last time as Andy Murray has also shared that he will not play much past the summer. 

During his stint in Dubai, Murray said, “Yeah, I mean, I’m likely not going to play past this summer.” He likely plans on competing in the Roland Garros, Wimbledon and then the Paris Olympics if he makes the Great Britain team. Like him, Nadal also looks to play his best and win a gold in the 2024 Olympics. Both stars have shown great form in their prime, but back-to-back injuries, especially for Murray, have likely led them to shift focus to their respective health.
