Over the years, the Swiss maestro Roger Federer‘s journey on the tennis court has not been easy. Starting off as a ball kid, he created a name in the tennis world in such a way that his retirement literally broke every tennis fan’s heart. During his retirement, the former world number one ruled out coaching as one of the possibilities for staying connected to the sport. But recently, he displayed his tennis nerdy side by sharing his knowledge over a Wimbledon rule, making him a perfect fit for a tennis coach.

A few days ago, the 20-time Grand Slam champion shared an amazing treat for his fans. He appeared in a tribute video for ball kids alongside the Princess of Wales. While he played tennis, the Swiss ace also didn’t miss any opportunity to teach Kate Middleton about some unique Wimbledon rules.

Recently, the 41-year-old tennis legend came together with the Princess of Wales to celebrate the ball boys and girls at Wimbledon. The two had a great time on the court, as they were joined by ball kids who showed them a few tricks they use on the tennis court. In the YouTube video, during the Swiss maestro’s serve, Kate was trying to have some ‘ball-kid’ moments and caught the ball with one hand.

Seeing the catch, the former tennis legend posited the Ball girl, Mollie, who was standing beside the Princess of Wales. He questioned the ball girl, “Are you allowed to do that?” After which, even Kate chimed in with the same query. “Oh wait, are you allowed to do that? That’s a good question”.

Further, the 20-time Grand Slam champion pointed out that in Australia and Wimbledon, the rules are quite different regarding catching a ball. He said, “In Australia, they would catch it, but here in Wimbledon, they don’t.” No doubt, the Swiss ace displayed his knowledge regarding the Wimbledon rules by correcting Princess Kate.

Well, for a tennis legend who started his journey as a ball boy, it won’t be wrong to say that he is quite aware of the ball kids’ rules. After being a ball kid for a brief period, the former world’s number one tennis player has always been spotted spending time with ball kids whenever he gets an opportunity. Federer in the same video, was also quite amused with the Princess of Wales’ forehand during their time on the tennis court.
