Frances Tiafoe might have a long way to go before he fancies himself a true Swiftie on the tour, but after spending time with Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game three months ago, he says that the decorated pop sensation has her “ultimate respect.” The American star is ready to dive in the ATP 500 Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, however, before competing, he told fans about his experience meeting the Eros Tour songstress in November last year.
Tiafoe has rubbed shoulders with some of the most high-profile personalities. But he was star-struck when he and his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield first met Swift with her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium. Their meeting occurred on November 10, 2024, when the Kansas City locked horns with the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs secured a hard-fought 16-14 victory but for the two-time US Open semifinalist, memorable moments extended beyond the highlights of the game on the field.
They spectated the showdown from a private suite where they were joined by Swift and Kelce. The power couple later shared glimpses of their time together, which included star-link meet-ups with Chiefs quarterback Partick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes. However, it wasn’t until Monday, February 24 that Tiafoe opened up about meeting the ‘Love Story’ hitmaker. During a conversation with Tennis TV, the World No. 18 said: “We go into the suite. The first person we see in the suite is Taylor. And I’m like, okay, don’t try to act like you’ve been here before. And so it’s crazy because, you know, like I’m not even saying I’m swiftie, but like I appreciate greatness so much. And seeing how cool she was, she’s got my ultimate respect. First off, she was very knowledgeable about what I was doing.”

He continued, “She’s like, man, we wanted to watch you play in the final and this and that at the [US] Open. And she’s like, Trav [Travis Kelce] loves you and this and that. And we were drinking all day together. She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is. Super down to earth. She’s amazing. And hopefully, we can do that again.” And, that wasn’t the end of it.
Tiafoe also reflected on his experience being greeted by Kelce and Mahomes at the power-studded NFL showdown.

Frances Tiafoe commends Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes for their hospitality
Bringing star athletes from different sports is an occurrence fans seldom witness and when they do, it’s generally filled with cherishable moments. The same happened with Frances Tiafoe when he chatted with Kansas City Chiefs superstars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead Stadium in November.
During an episode on the ‘The Pivot Podcast’, the former World No. 10 lauded the Chiefs duo for their warm reception, outlining he was thrilled when the players welcomed him as a VIP. “Trav [Travis Kelce] and Mahomes they’re like ‘Yo we got to have you in KC [Kansan City].’ Like them saying that is wild to me and they roll out the red carpet for me.”

“It’s crazy because playing tennis and being able to reach that many people and people want to meet me and hang out and actually do stuff, those are the things, it’s why you do what you do. It is kind of beyond just winning or just being good at your sport,” he added.
For now, Tiafoe is all tied up for his upcoming appearance in Acapulco. He is slated to square off against Alexandre Muller in the opening round of the Mexican Open on Tuesday, February 25.
