After lifting the year-end No.1 trophy at Turin for the seventh time, Novak Djokovic has impressed everyone from the tennis fraternity. Djokovic broke Pete Sampras’ previous record of six year-end No.1 titles. Since then, several former players have showered their appreciation towards the Serb.

Amongst them, the former World No.1, Andy Roddick regarded Novak Djokovic as GOAT. Considering Djokovic’s age, Roddick believes he will be the one ending with most Grand Slam titles. Notably, Djokovic is currently at 20 Major titles, along with Federer and Nadal.

Andy Roddick considers Novak Djokovic as GOAT

Novak Djokovic received his ATP year-end No. 1 trophy after winning the opener at ATP Finals. Following this achievement, Andy Roddick feels considering the numbers, Novak Djokovic is the ‘Greatest of all time.’

In an interview with Tennis Channel, he said, “Roger is one of my dear friends, I have so much respect for Rafael Nadal, I hope they both come back to win majors. But if Novak Djokovic ends his career with most Grand Slam titles of all time, it is a statistical impossibility to argue against him being the greatest based on numbers.”

Furthermore, Roddick even talked about the fitness Djokovic possesses. Even at 34, it seems like the Serb is playing in his prime. Speaking on his form, Roddick quoted, “He’s the one who’s in the best form, who seemingly has the long runaway left also.

Roddick on Djokovic’s 2021 season

Subsequently, in the same interview, Andy Roddick also talked about Djokovic’s spectacular 2021 season. According to Roddick, this might be the best season of his professional career.

On Djokovic’s 2021 form, he said, “He knows that he is inarguably playing the best tennis of his career now. This might be one of his best seasons ever. We treated him getting beaten in the Grand Slam final like it was the biggest upset in history. But he lost to the number two player in the world after winning three slams. That’s the level of respect for him, where he’s just not allowed to lose to anyone. “

Recently, the recognition of Nole’s claim as the Greatest of all time has increased significantly.
