British tennis star Andy Murray was once considered in the league of Big-3. However, with the passage of time and frequent injury troubles, his game has dipped for sure. This year, the 35-year-old returned to court after recovering from his groin injury, but his game has looked off-color.

Initially, Murray announced that he would not be playing in the clay-court season. However, he made a wild card entry to the Madrid Open and won the first two matches. Unfortunately, he was ill before the third-round match against Novak Djokovic, and pulled out of the game.

Murray’s fans will be disappointed yet again as the three-time grand slam winner has reportedly pulled out of Roland Garros this year.

Andy Murray Pulls Out From French Open

Andy Murray has decided to pull out of the upcoming French Open. Former world No. 1, who has only played at the French Open once since 2017, was not on the wild card list and is not in the draw for men’s singles qualifying.

The Brit, who recently turned 35 has decided to leave the clay-court tournament to turn his full focus towards the grass-court season. The two-time Wimbledon champion will be eager to regain his old prowess on the grass surface since he has been most successful in it.

Notably, apart from the two Wimbledon titles, he won a gold medal in the London Olympics in 2012 on the same surface. While he is least successful in the clay-court events. Murray will return to the UK to start his preparation for Wimbledon. The marquee Grand Slam tournament will begin on June 27.

In the wake of the disturbance between Russia and Ukraine, the 35-year-old, however, refrained from blaming the officials of the All England Club, saying that he feels bad for the banned players and he feels it is unfair for them. But knowing a few people who work at Wimbledon, he knows how they also are in a difficult position.

Murray made a smart move by expressing his opinion neutrally, refraining from taking sides, which might have landed him in a controversy.
