Andrey Rublev’s ‘Tasteless Joke’ at Close Friend Daniil Medvedev’s Expense Draws the Wrath of Angry Tennis Fans

In the world of tennis, some bonds extend way beyond the dynamics of the game. Tennis stars Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev fortunately share the same bond. Just like any friend, the two have their own moments of joy and laughter. However, unfortunately, there are certain moments when things can go out of hand and the same thing happened recently.

Andrey Rublev, who is the Godfather of Daniil Medvedev’s daughter, made a light joke about who the real father of the baby was. However, as it stands, the fans did not seem to have liked the message at all as they went all in and slammed the star for his comments.

Fans slam Andrey Rublev after his bizarre comments on Daniil Medvedev’s child about the real father

The fans took to Twitter to express their anger from Andrey Rublev who suggested that he was the real father of the child instead of the godfather. One fan came ahead and suggested that it was such an awful thing to say and that he should rather stick with his job of throwing rackets on the courts instead of trying hands-on comedy.

Another fan came in and suggested that Rublev has given the world another reason to dislike him. “Nothing to see here, just Rublev giving the world more reasons to dislike him. I don’t get how people find this funny, it’s quite disrespectful tbh,” said the fan.

Next, this fan came in and suggested that the attempt by Andrey Rublev was a ‘Tasteless joke‘ and there was nothing funny in it.

Another fan came in and suggested that this was just another way of breaking a happy marriage as it adds doubt. Also, it was very lame suggested the fan. “One way to break up a happy marriage. Add doubt. Lame,” said the fan.

Last but not least, this fan came in and said that this is not funny at all while reminding Rubkev that there are certain things that he cannot joke about at all.

Thus, Andrey Rublev had to go through a lot of backlash from the fans after his comments did not seem to have gone very well with either the player or the fans.

Rublev once jokingly asked Medvedev to switch places

In a recent interview, Andrey Rublev opened up on his role after being the godfather of the child. He suggested that there are many roles and responsibilities that he has to perform while Daniil will barely have any work to do. This then led him to suggest that it would be better if the two switched places.

“The priest made such a speech [about my duties] that I even said: ‘What should Danya do then since I have to do all of this?’ To which the priest said that Daniil must support his family financially,” the 25-year-old recalled. I asked him if it was possible to switch, because it looks like I have many times more responsibility than Dani!”

Thus, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev share a great bond both on and off the tennis courts. While his ‘real father’ joke wasn’t liked by many, the two have often been engaged in this war of words.
