The US Open has been a rollercoaster of emotions, with injuries casting a long shadow over the tournament. It’s been a saga of setbacks that no one saw coming, and as the competition heats up in the fourth round, the latest to feel the sting is Andrey Rublev. For Rublev, the court has always been a battleground where he showcases his fiery spirit and undeniable talent. But now, he’s facing an adversary that no one can truly prepare for—injury.

The Russian tennis sensation entered the fourth round of the final Grand Slam of the year. But as he took on Grigor Dimitrov, the challenge seemed to be more difficult than he anticipated. The star player failed to gain momentum in the first set of the match and was visibly furious, as he hit the tennis racquet with his hands. This act turned out to be scary for Rublev himself as he cut his hand by the strings of the racquet. Hr was seen in agony after the injury, as he opted for a medical timeout while trailing 4-1 in the set.

Rublev was also assisted by his physio as he looked agitated. While he returned to the court soon, the Russian failed to achieve significantly and lost the set 6-3. This was not the first time that Rublev had an angry outburst on the court.

It started to explode more and more on the court because in life I was able to stay calm but inside the court, I was burning everything.”
