Since the first edition of the indoor hard court tournament took place in 2017, John McEnroe has been a constant captain of the team world, standing against Björn Borg, Team Europe’s caption. But now this year, the Team World might see a new captain, as Andre Agassi might take over the same role.

As the tournament is still a few months away, both teams are still making huge news regarding Team World’s captain coming to light, as one of the popular tennis podcasters shared or source related to Roger Federer‘s event, and even related to the 65-year-old former American tennis player.
Craig Shapiro recently took to his Twitter account to share one of his sources of information, which might be huge intel on how this year’s tournament is going to be different. He wrote, “Sources telling me Agassi is going to be named new @LaverCup captain.”

Even though he did not name the captain he would take over for, the seven-time Grand Slam winner who has been involved in the competition for about eight years. Agassi and McEnroe’s eye-catching rivalry attracted a lot of attention, as evidenced by their intense altercations at Grand Slam tournaments 1 and 2.
