Pickleball is a sport that has skyrocketed in popularity in the last few years. Even some tennis legends were dabbling in the sport and ended up creating the pickleball slam, which was played earlier last year. The next rendition of the slam will be played in February 2024, and it will pit Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf against John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova. The popularity of the first slam and the star-studded players have drawn in many notable figures. 

In classic McEnroe fashion, the bout was announced by the former players with trash talk. But this time, the first incident came from Agassi and Graff instead of the Superbrat. 

Pickleball slam draws in notable sponsors

The Pickleball Slam 2 will be held on February 4, 2024. It will once again be held in the Hard Rock Stadium, Florida. The bout between McEnroe and Sharapova against Agassi and Graff has reached a high level of popularity before the next year has even come around. As people rush to book their tickets for the stadium, several brands have lined up to sponsor the event.

The presenting sponsors for the 2024 rendition are Hard Rock, State Farm, Brighthouse Financial, and Franklin Sports. Horizon Sports & Experiences and InsideOut Sports + Entertainment announced the sponsorship package on Wednesday. Individual branding rights will be granted to each of the four sponsors on the court, benches, the non-volley zone around the net, and the ball.

While the sponsors are lining up to make sure the event is glorious and everything proceeds smoothly, the players are setting the stage for a great bout. Agassi and McEnroe have been involved in trash talk since their match was announced, and McEnroe recently decided to show his skills.

As Sharapova and McEnroe look to become a great duo, they engage in various team-building exercises. The two posted a video near the end of November, where Sharapova asked McEnroe to say the first thing that comes to his mind when he hears a term. The game started out as quite fun and went on to become even more hilarious. 

When the Russian player took the name of Agassi, McEnroe quickly said, “Chump from last year“. They laughed and gave it another try, where the Superbrat called him “Bald“. As their bout inches closer, the drama is heating up. With trash talk launched from McEnroe’s side, Agassi is bound to give a response.
