Also, the 35 years old pulled out of the Italian Open this year. His participation in the French Open was doubtful as well, but the 14-time Roland Garros surprised everyone with his grit and determination.

Speaking to the media after his title win, the 35-year-old spoke in detail about the treatment he will be going through for his pestering foot issue.

Rafael Nadal opens up about his treatment

On Sunday night, Nadal revealed that he had two nerve-numbing injections on his foot before the start of the game. Speaking about the procedure, the legendary Spaniard said that it was a temporary treatment, and he is looking for a long-term solution for the issue.

In a candid way, he explained the procedure he will go through.

“The injections in the nerves have gone well for me. Now we are going to do a treatment that consists of an intervention in the two nerves. This is something that has worked well for me and that took away my pain in the past. It consists of injections with pulsed radiofrequency that could help me reduce the sensation that I have in my foot.” (Google Translate)
