Roger Federer had his last dance on the court at the 2022 Laver Cup. And it was precisely how he pictured it to be, alongside his arch-rival Rafael Nadal. But as noted by Federer earlier, tennis is not the only thing that defines him; he is embarking on a journey that has brought meaning and sense of purpose him. We have heard Federer being in talks with BBC about doing commentary at Wimbledon 2023, but seems like he has his priorities somewhere else.

And this is something he has realized now that the results are visible, and he wants to take part proactively.

People have always hailed the Swiss Maestro for his compassionate and cordial nature. But it also extends to his off-court activities too. And that is why Federer made it clear that he prioritizes working for his foundation over the Wimbledon commentary. In an open letter addressed to The Roger Federer Foundation, he reassured his fans that he has been keeping up well and “working on existing and new projects.”

Clearing every doubt, he stated, “It goes without saying that my foundation will be at the forefront of my priorities.”

Looking back at how far the foundation has come, he stated, “The Roger Federer Foundation, which I established with my parents in 2003, has grown to be much larger than we initially envisioned during my playing days.” Reminiscing about the old times, he stated, “I still recall signing the founding document.”

The Swiss Maestro laid the roots of his foundation back in 2003, along with his parents. What he didn’t envision was that it would change the lives of millions of children.

The Foundation focuses on providing quality education in their initial years of schooling. And the stats have shown wonderful results. The Foundation has given around 2.4 million children access to quality education. Training and curriculum of more than 44k and 12k educational institutions have been upgraded.
