He inspired a lot of the American younger generation with the story of how he and his family’s hard work made it to where he is today. Recently in an interview, he opened up about his younger days and assuring who he is today.
Young Frances Tiafoe once assured his father about tennis
In a recent interview with Good Morning America, he was asked about his tennis journey. Tiafoe recalled a time when he assured his father about his tennis career. He said, “My parents are everything in my life. I wouldn’t be doing this interview or any of the achievements that I have had.”
His parents had no idea what their son’s future would look like. They wanted to use tennis as a way to get through college. He said, “They definitely wanted to use this tennis thing as you know, free education, full scholarship um and I was like you know how about we use the sentencing to change our lives, right? You know forever just having that mindset such a young age, I think it was able to get me.”
The American star had an outstanding junior career and is constantly growing on the tennis court. His father always wanted him to get a secured job after college, but he had other plans for his future.

Tiafoe displayed his best performance in the US Open
Tiafoe’s matches at the US Open were full of surprises. He defeated the world Number three Rafael Nadal in the fourth round to reach the US Open quarterfinals. The 22nd seed was the first player to defeat Nadal this year in a Grand Slam tournament.
To make his way further, Tiafoe defeated Andrey Rublev and became the first American man to reach the US Open semifinals. The last American to reach the US Open final was Andy Roddick in 2006.
