The mistake Frances Tiafoe made in the Paris Masters
Even though he lost his semifinal seat to Felix Auger-Aliassime, Tiafoe seems to have accepted the defeat like a champion. He isn’t spiraling about the loss, but is cracking jokes. During his match against the Canadian, when he stepped out of the court to get some water and towels, he accidentally pushed the door of the fridge and it fell on one of the camerawoman. The camerawoman later posted the clip of the event and jokingly wrote, “Yesterday was not my best day at office. I was behind the fridge, and it hurt me…”
Thereafter, she added, “I know this is crazy! I didn’t see much of the game as I had stitches off-court. But I feel good today.” To this, Tiafoe, taking full responsibility, replied. “Sorry about this yesterday. I felt terrible about this after seeing you bleeding after I hit you with the fridge.”
“I didn’t see you there. Glad you are okay,” the 24-year-old added. Tiafoe, who got the better of the Australian professional Alex De Minaur to claim a position in the last eight of the Paris Masters, got outclassed in straight sets of 6-1 6-4 by Auger Aliassime.
