Fans react to the Italian tennis legend’s criticism of Frances Tiafoe
The American tennis star recently represented his country at the Davis Cup. In a contest between the United States team and the Italian team, Frances Tiafoe played against Lorenzo Sonego. During the tie, Tiafoe was spotted wearing his headphones during the national anthem recital.
This prompted the Italian tennis legend, Adriano Panatta, to slam the American for his behavior during his country’s national anthem ceremony. Panatta was there for the event as one of the commentators for the quarter-final match between Tiafoe and Sonego. Tiafoe was met with sharp criticism from the former Italian tennis player. Panatta criticized Tiafoe by saying, “He is rude. If I were his captain, I would kick him in the b*tt”.
However, the American’s fanbase was not impressed with Panatta’s brutal comment on the US Open semifinalist. Notably, one of the fans slammed the 1976 Roland Garros winner by saying, “Adriano Panatta is f**king stupid.”

Notably, one of the fans criticized Panatta by saying, “nationalism is disgusting and i would applaud him if he didn’t stand up for the anthem at all.” Others also chimed in with similar reactions.
