“I mean, look, I’m a really picky eater,” Taylor Fritz said at the Indian Wells last year. The American has a ritual of eating steak and mashed potatoes before big matches, but being on tour makes it tough to keep up with your eating habits. You don’t always have the perfect cook available everywhere. But hey Fritz seems to have found a solution and his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle is all for it!

Remember when Fritz shared photos from the Citi Taste of Tennis in 2024 alongside Andre Agassi and Qinwen Zheng? He captioned them with a humorous note: “Who let me cook 👨‍🍳” as Agassi watched him plate a dish. Seven months later, the US Open finalist is taking charge of cooking in Miami!

On March 21, Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle shared an Instagram story titled “Taylor & the Crockpot: a short story.” It started with screenshots of her messages with Taylor, where he sent her a reel by stealth_health_life, featuring frozen cheesy chicken and rice burritos made in a slow cooker. Fritz was intrigued by the slow cooker idea, texting Riddle that they should get one. Just 45 minutes later, he messaged again: “I just ordered a slow cooker to Miami. So I can go insane meal prep.”

In the next two stories, Riddle shared a video of Fritz cooking the recipe in their Miami accommodation. She was “super excited” about the outcome! While she didn’t share a taste review, she ended the story with a picture of the pot stored in the refrigerator and wrote “the end.” Perhaps it was a success? Only Riddle and Fritz can answer that.

It’s exciting to see Fritz take on another role besides tennis! He’s been on a health kick, and his recent sponsorship deal with Chipotle might have inspired him to make burritos in Miami. Ahead of his Australian Open campaign, he shared a reel of a day in his life, where he could be seen picking up a Chipotle high-protein lifestyle bowl that he counts on for a “reliable, healthy, good tasting meal,” perfect for a player on the go.

Now with his new slow cooker, could we expect more cooking videos from the World No. 4? Hopefully, this time around, it won’t end with fans questioning his cooking techniques, like in his previous cooking video shared with Riddle!

When Morgan Riddle and Taylor Fritz’s previous cooking adventure went wrong

Taylor Fritz’s culinary skills were put to the test in a hilarious video that made the rounds on X back in January 2023. In the clip, Fritz and his girlfriend Morgan Riddle were cooking together, and things took a turn when they realized they needed to tenderize some chicken breast. Riddle asked, “We’re supposed to tenderize the chicken breast?” Fritz responds, “Do we have a tenderizer?” The answer was no, and that’s when things got interesting.

Fritz, accustomed to gripping a racquet handle, decided to improvise. “Like, punch it?” he asked, before proceeding to pound his right fist into the meat. X users were quick to react, with some defending Fritz’s unorthodox method and others expressing horror. One user joked, “Taylor’s coach seeing Taylor use his right hand (his racquet hand) punch a chicken to ‘tenderizer’ it,” complete with a fitting meme. Some even speculated that Riddle might have set him up for the comedic moment.
