It’s time for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and fans seem quite exhilarated about it. Even though there are many big names who will be featuring at the biggest sporting event, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won’t be a part of the same.

World No.3 Rafael Nadal withdrew from the Olympic Games after the French Open 2021 only. The Spaniard didn’t play even at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 and now, his team, Spain will surely miss him in Tokyo.

In a recent interview, Pablo Carreno Busta mentioned that with Rafa, there are always more chances for Spain to win an Olympic medal. However, he also stated that he and his teammates must get over the fact and focus on their matches now.

“With Rafa, there are always more medal options, but he is not there and we must forget about it, focus each one on their matches,” said Busta in the interview.

Rafael Nadal won the Olympic Gold at the Beijing Olympics 2008. Interestingly, he won another Olympic Gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics 2016- this time in the doubles category with his partner Marc Lopez. It is because of all these remarkable performances that Busta highlighted that Rafa increases the possibility of winning a medal.
