Roger Federer‘s Danish fanboy’s rise to the top echelons in the men’s circuit is lauded by the entire tennis realm. The Dane had a major breakthrough in the previous season when he clinched two ATP singles titles in addition to his stellar ‘quarterfinal’ campaign at the French Open. Since then, the 20-year-old’s prowess has often delighted the audience while he has established his position in the top 5 rankings. The current world No. 4 apparently desires to play in front of a larger audience and on a more prestigious court now. However, for the US Open, the Dane has now been allotted one of the smaller shows and “worst courts” in New York.

Taking note of the same, the young tennis star has come forward to lash out at the ATP authorities while accusing them of bias.

Danish star Holger Rune recently showcased his ‘no-filter’ demeanor on his social media platform in order to criticize the tournament’s organizers. In his recent Tweet, Rune expressed his displeasure over the US Open’s decision to give him Court No. 5 for his opening round fixture.

Considering his current rankings, the allotment came as a huge surprise to the Dane, who was expecting to play on one of the three premier courts with a bigger capacity. While sharing a site map of the tournament, the 20-year-old took a sly dig at the organizers.

But that’s not all. The World No.4 further expressed his frustrations during an interview with TV2 Denmark. In his honest confession, the Danish dark horse accused two unnamed ATP officials of always giving him the “worst courts” during his campaign. He said, “It is two ATP managers/supervisors who always give me the worst courts. So that’s how it is.”

Rune certainly looks disappointed prior to his match on the ‘smaller’ Court 5, where he will square off against one of the unseeded players.

The 20-year-old had remarkable campaigns at Wimbledon and the French Open as he reached the quarterfinal round of both Grand Slams. However, he has yet to taste any profound success in the US Open, where he previously faced initial round defeats.

This season, the Dane will try to make amends after entering the tournament as the fourth seed. In the opening round match, Rune will lock horns with the unseeded Spaniard, Roberto Carballés Baena.
