In a sincere and open address, Juan Martin del Potro bared his feelings about the much-anticipated US Open comeback. The thrill of returning to the grandeur of the tournament had him exhilarated, as he explored every avenue to make it a reality. However, his body’s limitations held him back from achieving the complete comfort and joy he sought, dampening his ability to reconnect with fans on the unique stage. The persistent discomfort he grapples with remains an obstacle, diverting his focus from contemplating a potential return.

The big-hearted Argentinian said remorsefully, “Hello everyone. As you already know, my desire to return to such a special court as the US Open had me very excited. I tried every possible way to reach the end, but my body doesn’t support me 100% to be able to feel comfortable and happy to share a unique moment with you once again. They also know that the pain I feel still doesn’t allow me to focus on a comeback.”

With determination undeterred, Del Potro reported that he remains committed to seeking innovative solutions that would restore the quality of life he cherishes. He ended on a positive note: “I will continue to seek the best alternatives to regain my quality of life. I appreciate the company, understanding, and messages of encouragement that you send me. Sending you a big hug. I hope to see you soon.”
