Boasting immense talent, Frances Tiafoe has had a disappointing run this year. Much was expected of him after a decent 2023 season where he made his top-10 debut. However, the American star has fallen down the pecking order due to an inconsistent run this season. Tiafoe has dropped out of the top 25 in the ATP rankings and is now placed in the 28th spot. However, he gave hopes about a promising summer later this year to which fans went crazy.

Earlier this week, Tiafoe dropped some glimpses of his practice session as he gears up for the hard court season. Although he hasn’t had a good run lately, the American star revealed that the Summer of 24 ‘finna be crazzzy.’ While Tiafoe was confident of a good showing in the upcoming tournament, fans thought otherwise.

The American’s best result this year has been a finals appearance at the ATP Houston. However, he went down fighting against Ben Shelton in the summit clash and is yet to win a title this season. Thus, fans had enough of Tiafoe and gave up hope on him with some brutal comments.

Tiafoe has decided to skip the Paris Olympic Games in order to focus on the hard-court tournaments later this season. The American star’s primary target is the US Open, where he reached the semifinals a couple of years back. However, when he raised hopes about a good show there, some fans slammed him as he has failed to deliver on his promises made this season.

A fan predicted his performances in the upcoming tournaments, saying that he will reach the second round in Cincinnati and the third round in other tournaments like DC, Montreal, and the US Open. Looks like the fan had given up hopes about Tiafoe digging deep in the tournaments.

However, this wasn’t the worst prediction made about the American player. Another fan felt that the he wouldn’t be able to proceed beyond the first round, saying, “Ur generous for thinking he’ll get past r1 at all of those!” This isn’t the first time we have seen Tiafoe making promises about a good performance in upcoming tournaments. In the past, the American star had made massive predictions about himself which he failed to deliver. As a result, one Twitter user felt that he was, “All talk, no motion.”

Meanwhile, Tiafoe is popularly known as the ‘Big Foe’ due to his massive serves and hard-hitting game. However, fans have seen none of it this year, with Tiafoe disappointing at the tournaments. Thus, one fan felt, “He need to take BIG of his nickname until he wins a masters 1000 or Slam.”

2022 US Open could have been a good opportunity, had eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz not bested him. At this year’s Roland Garros, the two again met only for Alcaraz to defeat him again in the third round. This was after Tiafoe’s previous two Grand Slam events ending in the second round both times.

Lastly, some fans were brutal in their comments about Tiafoe. One of the fans slammed him, saying, “he’s acting like hell actually do something.”
