Australian tennis prodigy Alexei Popyrin is probably living some of the best days of his life. After a stunning victory at the Canadian Open 2024, he just delivered one of the most shocking wins of the ongoing US Open by defeating Olympic and defending champion Novak Djokovic. Now he is all set to face the USA’s Frances Tiafoe at the Arthur Ashe Stadium today to further his winning spree. But it is not only on the court, his life seems to be equally exciting off it.

A significant part of that is his girlfriend, Amy Pederick. The duo has been dating since July 2019, and their Instagram posts are a testament that together they are living a good life. But do you know, their love story had a cute beginning?

The two have been childhood sweethearts ever since they were in school In Dubai, where Popyrin has spent a considerable time of his childhood. “We went to the class together (in Dubai), so we were in the same math class when we were eight years old and we kind of kept in touch since then,” Popyrin had told to Khaleej Times. So how did it move ahead? “When we’re 18 years old, she was in London and I was there for the Queens (tennis tournament) and we met up, and we have been dating ever since,” Popyrin had revealed.

Since their relationship became official, something that his followers can’t ignore is their adorable display of affection on social media. And those have always come from different parts of the world. The couple regularly go on vacations and show off their amazing chemistry. Making memories through a stunning sunset

In 2021, the couple set out for a vacation in Zimbabwe. Popyrin and Pederick shared cutesy pictures near the water, and the Aussie player dropped a kiss on his girlfriend’s forehead. They shared some snaps of the beautiful sunset with their close ones. “Nothing beats a Kariba sunset,” wrote Pederick on Instagram.

Love blooms amid the rough sands

In 2022, they went on a vacation to Dubai and stormed social media with adorable pictures on the sand. Popyrin kissed his beau on the forehead, once again, in one of the pictures. “Life with you🤍,” Amy had written passionately.

The Mediterranean saga

Last year in July, we discovered them in Greece. Pederick took some snippets from Lindos’ famous restaurant, Tambakio, with a refreshing cocktail. She shared her beautiful view from the itinerary and Popyrin also received some space in that bunch. After these beautiful pictures, people understood who clicked Pederick’s dreamy social media snaps.

Not far away, even while at work

During the Australian Open this year in February, the couple visited Melbourne together. Popyrin’s beau dropped some pictures on Instagram, where the Aussie player looked delighted with his partner by his side. From Melbourne’s eye-catching skyline to visiting friends, and glimpses from her beau’s Grand Slam performance, Pederick transported her followers to the Australian Grand Slam with her images on social media. She went to a restaurant with Ivana Nedved and clicked pictures too.

The fiesta never ends when they are together

A few months ago, they were in Spain for the 2024 Madrid Open and they clicked some adorable pictures around the city. From visiting beautiful gardens with friends to mushy pictures with her boyfriend, Pederick again championed showing how deeply she and Popyrin are in love. Not only in happy moments, Pederick has been there through the slumps as well. So this Aussie player never fails to show off how much Pederick means to him.

Through thick and thin, Alexei Popyrin’s bond with Amy grows stronger

On August 13, Popyrin defeated Andrey Rublev and won the 2024 Canadian Open. Needless to say, this was an important turning point in the Aussie player’s career. After Popyrin’s victory, he gave a huge shout-out to his beau.

“Not just me, but my family, my girlfriend, my team, everybody around me. They have sacrificed their whole lives for me and for me to win this for them is just amazing, This is one of the few weeks when my girlfriend isn’t traveling with me and I win the tournament. I hope she comes to New York now,” he had said. We get that, especially after the way Amy has been beside him through 2022, a difficult year that saw Popyrin crash out of the top 100. Amy had seen his efforts to get back to the top first hand.

“It was really tough, mentally – very draining for him and it wasn’t easy. But he stuck through, he grinded, and he pushed through and he trained so hard in pre-season, Every single day he was on the court for hours. He tried everything, mentally. He got a new nutrition coach on the team, and I think he has worked so hard to build an amazing team and build that strong support system,” Amy had said to Today about the phase. On the same conversation, Amy had also hinted about his preparation for the 2024 season.

“I think that is what helped him, and he has gone into this year with a very positive mind set. He has had an insane start to the year in 2023. I think big things are coming this year, so I think we should all watch this space. I am incredibly proud,” Amy had said. With all the love, their relationship attained a new milestone this February.

The two became the proud owners of a house in Dubai. “Yeah, we just bought a house together in Dubai, we picked up the keys last week,” Popyrin had informed toward the end of February. Will Amy once again become the lucky charm of Popyrin when he faces Tiafoe in the Flushing Meadows?
