It will come as a huge surprise for many fans that Thomalla isn’t accompanying Zverev during a Grand Slam tournament. She was there in the German tennis star’s player’s box during his campaign at this season’s Australian Open, where he secured a semifinal finish after defeating the second seed, Carlos Alcaraz. Sophia Thomalla shared a quirky post after Alexander Zverev’s triumph in Rome

After delivering some stellar performances at the Italian Open, the German player added his sixth ATP Masters 1000 title to his trophy haul. Zverev outclassed some of the big guns, including Nicolás Jarry, Alejandro Tabilo, and Taylor Fritz, to mark a triumphant run in Rome. As he was crowned champion, Zverev’s girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla, showcased her love and admiration by dropping a playful message directed at his tennis star boyfriend.

While sharing a picture of the current number four player kissing his trophy, the German actress added the caption, “He just knew that I could do more with a cup at home than with a plate.” With her quirky Instagram post, Thomalla made it clear that she wanted the cup rather than a ‘plate,’ which is given to the player who secures a runner-up position in a tournament.
