Into the semifinals of the 2022 French Open against Rafael Nadal, the world number two suffered a major injury. Pushing the Spaniard to his limits, Zverev was forced to retire mid-match after injuring his ankle with a major on-court fall. A fall, that tore his ankle ligaments.

Updating his fans, on 8th June, the German opened up about him undergoing surgery for his ankle. Ever since then, Zverev has been out of the tour, recovering from the injury. Helping him in his recovery, elder brother Mischa recently opened up about his brother’s current condition.
Mischa opens up about the road to recovery for Alexander Zverev
Mischa Zverev may not be a mainstream player anymore. However, he is undoubtedly still in the picture for being the brother of Alexander Zverev. Recently, the 34-year-old indulged in a conversation with a media house. During the conversation, he revealed that Alexander is heading to rehab on his ankle next week.
Into the conversation, Mischa admitted, “He’s (Alexander Zverev) training all parts of his body that are healthy.”
Looking at the game stats, the two have a major difference in where they stand. Alexander Zverev is number two in the world, an Olympic gold medalist, a two-time ATP finals winner, and a US Open finalist. On the other hand, Mischa has reached a career-high of 25 in the world and has won a single title till now.
The two undoubtedly enjoy different stands on the tour. However, the difference doesn’t seem to affect their relationship off the court. Both being trained under their father Alexander Zverev Sr., the two are often spotted practicing together.

“He’s in a positive mood. We joke about his stiff foot.,” Mischa said. “He’s smiling and looking forward to coming back,” he further added.
The anticipated return of Alexander Zverev
Suffering from injury, Alexander Zverev pulled out from the ongoing 2022 Wimbledon Championships. While fans are praying for Zverev’s speedy recovery, they are also anticipating the possible return of the German. As per a media house, Zverev may return to the tour near the time of the US Open.
